If you are wanting a sweet historical romance, then this is NOT the book for you. If you like books with hot, dirty sex then you will enjoy this. As the author quite clearly states in the blurb this book contains dirty sex and dominance! A great read, made better by the fact it is a free download. The characters were well written and believable with a plot very apt for the time it is set. Vanessa Vale is known for books full of dirty sex and menage, so if this is not your thing steer clear of all her books! I personally love them and I am looking forward to the next in the series.

I really wanted to love this book because I love this author and her stories. However, I couldn’t fall in love with the main character, Rose. She was so immature and whiny throughout the book that it was very hard to love her. I also thought the love between Rose and Chance was not truly developed. The storyline was too underdeveloped to really appreciate the love between the two characters and believe the love they had for one another. At times, it felt like Chance was more of a perverted uncle than a husband. Very quick read just not my favorite! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

A sweet sometimes raunchy historical romance Rise has always been more comfortable working the family ranch than been the woman of her times When she finally decides it is time to leave local rancher Chase Goodman finally sees his chance to get the woman he has seen grow from a young child. She is his and he has no intention of letting her go. Not a huge story line in this book but a great fun read never the less
